Züs Network Enhances Blockchain Apps and Invites Community Testing Participation

Community Call to Action

Last week, Züs Network called on its community to test its suite of applications: Vult, Blimp, Bolt, and Chalk. Your participation is crucial, particularly with Chalk, where creating a collection is simple and inexpensive, requiring only a few ZCN for storage and a small amount of Matic for gas fees on the Polygon network. Detailed instructions can be found in our Chalk documentation.

Testing Tasks

We have outlined specific tasks for testers to provide valuable feedback:

  1. Create Collections and NFTs: Experiment with creating and managing collections and NFTs on Chalk.

  2. Compare Upload/Download Durations: Use a file larger than 100MB to measure upload and download times compared to Google Drive or Dropbox, and report your internet speed via speedtest.net.

  3. File Operations: Test functionalities like deleting, moving, and renaming files.

4. File Sharing: Test both public and private file sharing options.

  5. Blobber Management: Try adding and replacing blobbers in the storage details.

  6. Blimp Features: Test features like freezing and making an allocation immutable.

  7. Referral System: Engage with and evaluate the referral system.

Updates and Fixes

We’ve implemented several updates and hotfixes to enhance our blockchain’s performance and functionality. Key changes include:

  1. Miner Updates:Total Rewards Aggregates: Updated previously calculated rewards.
Killed Blobbers: Ensured inactive blobbers do not receive rewards.
Size Calculations: Corrected size calculation mechanisms for blobbers and allocations.
Validator URL: Replicated URL for validators in aggregates.
State Nonce: Fixed health check nonce for miners.

  2. Blobber Updates:Temp Dir Load Issues: Resolved file not found issues under load.
Marker Sequence: Implemented sequence usage for obtaining markers.
Connection Size: Corrected connection size updates.
Object Deletion: Fixed object deletion functionality.
Path Checks: Added checks for file paths and names.
Retry Mechanisms: Enhanced retry check mechanisms.
File Name Limit: Increased file name length limit to 150 characters.

  3. 0Box Features:Phone Number Formatting: Standardized phone number formats.
Push Notifications: Implemented push notification features.
Censorship Validations: Added censorship validations for inputs.

  4. zs3 Updates:Bucket Naming: Updated conventions to use prefixes.
Filepath Locking: Implemented locking and disabled progress tracking.
Multipart Upload: Corrected object path handling.
Encrypted Files: Adjusted shard sizes for streaming.
Directory Creation: Ensured directory creation for zero-size files.

  5. gosdk Improvements:ZCN Token Representation: Changed representation to string.
    WebAssembly GC: Tuned garbage collection.
Logging Levels: Adjusted to debug for specific logs.
Upload Mode: Exposed functionality in mobile and Windows SDKs.
Commit Retries: Increased retries for commit operations.
MIME Type: Included in status callbacks.
Save Progress: Added an option to save progress.
Timestamp Handling: Corrected in WM component.
Buffer Size: Fixed issues during write operations.
Pause Upload Errors: Improved error messaging.
Empty File Downloads: Skipped downloads for empty files.
    Content Seek: Corrected in WebAssembly.

Kafka Integration

We’ve transitioned from polling aggregates and snapshots to streaming all events to 0Box from the sharder, reducing the load on sharders and providing greater flexibility.

Final Thoughts

Thank you for your continued support and participation. Your feedback is invaluable in enhancing our applications and blockchain network. Together, we are building a robust, decentralized, and high-performance multi-cloud storage solution.
