About the Project
CESS (Cumulus Encrypted Storage System) is revolutionizing Web3 with its cutting-edge decentralized storage and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure. This blockchain-powered platform is designed for seamless on-chain data sharing, empowering both users and creators. Additionally, CESS serves as a robust foundation for developers to build and deploy decentralized applications (DApps), ensuring optimal performance for storing and retrieving high-frequency dynamic data. This innovative approach not only reshapes the value distribution and circulation of data assets but also guarantees data sovereignty and user privacy.
Utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS incentivizes the global deployment of network nodes, driving mass adoption and enhancing network efficiency. This decentralized model ensures a scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure, making it an ideal solution for the growing demands of Web3. With CESS, the future of data storage and content delivery is decentralized, efficient, and user-centric, offering unparalleled benefits to the Web3 community.
Use Case
NFT Issuance and Storage: CESS provides a secure, decentralized solution for storing NFT assets, ensuring data rights verification and efficient distribution to storage nodes for public and private retrievals.
Personal Network Drive: Individuals can securely store personal data such as photos and documents in CESS's distributed network drive, benefiting from enhanced security, ownership protection, cost efficiency, and capacity.
Decentralized Streaming and Social Media: CESS safeguards content from censorship by storing articles and videos in a decentralized manner, ensuring data integrity and freedom of speech through blockchain-based metadata.
Distributed Enterprise Storage Service: CESS offers enterprises a fast, secure, and cost-effective decentralized cloud storage solution for data storage, archival, and backup, leveraging a vast storage resource pool and multiple storage proof mechanisms.
Decentralized Data Marketplace: Users can set values for their data files on CESS, which manages pricing, access control, and transaction records on the blockchain, ensuring secure and transparent data transactions and rights protection.
Technicals
Data Recovery Guarantee: The PoDR² protocol ensures data validity and availability by redundantly storing data fragments and regularly challenging storage nodes to prevent data loss and maintain integrity.
Verifiable Unused Storage: The PoIS protocol verifies that storage nodes honestly contribute available resources to the CESS network, which are then used to store user data, earning incentives for node operators.
Smart Space Management: Aggregating global storage contributions, CESS provides a cloud-like experience with horizontal scalability, elasticity, and durability, efficiently managing space for both storage nodes and users.
Unified Storage Price: Unlike other decentralized storage protocols, CESS offers a single price point for storage, optimized through a middle-layer pricing mechanism that balances user costs and storage provider incentives.
IPFS Compatibility: Scheduled for launch in Q4 2024, CESS will be compatible with the IPFS standard, allowing developers to integrate their dApps with IPFS-based storage solutions and ensuring immutable, tamper-resistant data storage.
Secure Data Access: Launching in Q3 2024, Proxy Re-encryption Technology (PReT) will enable users to authorize decryption permissions securely, with data processed in Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) within storage nodes.
Fast Data Retrieval: Set for launch in 2025, CESS's data indexing and Decentralized Content Delivery Network (DCDN) will enhance search and download speeds, utilizing a refined consensus mechanism for low gas fees and high transaction throughput.
Data Ownership Traceability: Debuting in Q3 2024, the Multi-format Data Rights Confirmation (MDRC) protocol will ensure data ownership can be verified and traced, with fingerprints of all data stored permanently on-chain.
Cumulus Gap: CESS facilitates secure, compliant AI development by enabling the exchange of encrypted parameters and models, allowing organizations to contribute to global AI frameworks without compromising data privacy or regulatory adherence.
Token
Storage: Storage miners with available capacity join the network to earn tokens based on their bandwidth and storage contributions, incentivizing decentralized storage.
Consensus: Consensus miners with adequate computational resources can stake CESS tokens to run candidate consensus nodes. Selected nodes by the random consensus mechanism earn rewards for validating transactions.
Community Governance: Developers, community members, and partners can submit funding proposals on-chain, which are voted on by the DAO. Approved proposals receive rewards from the Community Development Fund (CDF).
Token Distribution: All incentive-related activities are governed by smart contracts, ensuring fair and transparent distribution of funds and rewards.
